Randy Cannon is from a large family and grew up in the small Mississippi Delta town of Shelby, MS. Like many back then, he was encouraged to work at an early age. So at a young age of 14 he began working at Ferretti Building Materials where he continued to work for the next 14 years. Mr. Ferretti instilled in him the working values that he still adheres to: Over deliver when it comes to your clients; make sure that your client sees value in the work that you do for them.
After leaving Ferretti’s, Randy worked for BFI Waste Systems (at the time, the 2nd largest waste company in America) and at Waste Connections for the next 23 years. At one time, Randy was responsible for over 300 employees and thousands of clients. After leaving the waste business, Randy decided to follow his Son, Blake Cannon, into the Real Estate Business and became a Realtor in 2012. In his first two years as a realtor Randy became a Million Dollar Club member, was named Rookie of the Year for both Bob Leigh & Associates and the Northwest Mississippi Association of Realtors and was recognized as one of the top 3 agents for individual sales in the Million Dollar Club.
Randy has been a Desoto County resident since 1996 and is married to Dianne Cannon, owner of Cannon Interiors. They have two Sons; Blake Cannon, a Realtor in Oxford; and Jeffery Cannon, Ph.D, a Forest Ecologist at the Jones Center at Ichauway, Athens, GA. He also has 3 wonderful grandchildren, Noah, Mary Grace and Juliet.
