I was born in Tupelo, MS and graduated from Tupelo High School. Received a Bachelor Degree in Business with a major in Finance from Mississippi State University. During my last year of college, I joined the Mississippi National Guard and served active duty at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. I served 6 years with the 155th Armored Brigade headquartered in Tupelo, MS as a communications specialist. On my return from active duty I was hired by the Bank of Mississippi as a trust officer handling bonds, silver bullion, cattle, going businesses, and protecting and caring for estates and trust, preparing bank merger data, and pension plans. This was excellent training in the business world for a young man fresh out of college. I still use the skills and information from those experiences. I was first licensed as a real estate salesman in 1971 and became a broker around 1976. I opened Service Insurance and Realty a full service insurance agency and real estate office in 1980 on North Gloster Street in Tupelo. I sold the Insurance agency in the late 1980's and moved to Desoto County in 1992 doing appraisal work and consulting to banks on new construction in the Northwest counties of Mississippi; Desoto, Marshal, Tate, and others. I am a licensed appraiser under the 1992 Mississippi guidelines and have prepared hundreds of appraisal assignments and hundreds of hours of appraisal continuing education courses over the past 20+ years in Desoto County market. I use my appraisal skills and knowledge daily in the process of selling; land, commercial, residential, lease space, and lease build outs to solve real estate problems for my clients with documented data, linear regression, trend lines, and statistical information. The real estate market overall has changed and continues to change. Buyers and Sellers need micro information, and in many cases comparable data is very limited.
